2020 – 2021
In 2020 the Voice Collector re-appeared during the time of Covid 19 (one of the many symptoms of an ailing Planet, of an ecosystem trying to adjust). Deeply concerned by the state of the warming Planet, the 6th Extinction crisis and feeling a deep melancholia about the diminishing possibility of the survival of the human species he decided to collect the answers to 3 questions:
- What do we need to do to stop Global warming, environmental degradation and the 6th extinction crisis.
- What do I need to do to help stop Global warming, environmental degradation and the 6th extinction crisis.
- What specific actions will I take to help stop Global warming, environmental degradation and the 6th extinction crisis.
The recorded answers to these questions were then used by the Voice Collector to create music tracks that he shared online. This is part of his life work (and the work of the previous Voice Collector) that set out to record audio time capsules of certain aspects of human existence such as our ability to dream of the future, to reflect on the past, to empathise, to connect with and understand the natural world, to express grief, to express joy and to understand our place in the world and our own footprint on that world.
